It pairs a large ember bed burner with an elevated main burner under refractory logs in Kodiak Char, Kodiak Split or Kodiak Timbers styles, and it can be expanded with Hargrove's triple stack add-on for a third tier of logs. A high-capacity millivolt valve with a wall switch means it runs without household power.

What Is Included and What You Will Need

Installation Notes
Center the burner under the flue with the burner pipes visible from the front, connect the supply with the aluminum connector, and leak test every joint with soapy water. Light with a match held beside the burner, and keep the damper and any glass doors fully open until all flames are out. Propane sets need an automatic pilot system. A fire screen is required and the clearances to combustibles in the manual must be followed. Hargrove lists this burner as not certified, so confirm acceptance with your local code official before ordering. In New York City, gas work must be done by a licensed master plumber under permit. What is the difference between double and triple stack?
Double stack uses a large ember bed burner and an elevated main burner. The triple stack add-on adds a third tier of logs at the back of the fireplace and needs a deeper firebox.
Does it need electricity?
No. It uses a millivolt pilot system with a wall switch, so no household power is required.
How big does my fireplace need to be?
With the valve, at least 36 in wide at the front and back. Depth is 21 in for double stack and 31 in for triple stack per the Kodiak manual.
Can I burn wood in it afterward?
No. Once a decorative gas log set is installed, solid fuel must not be burned in that fireplace.

Warranty
Per Hargrove: limited lifetime on the refractory logs for indoor installations, 5 years on the burner and grate, and 2 years on valves, remote controls and switching devices and other parts. All categories are 1 year for outdoor use. Defects must be reported within 30 days of discovery.
