Description
Description
Overall Dimensions: 65" W x 36" D x 67" H
The Mariposa is a full-size vented outdoor fireplace cast in glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC), with an arched firebox, a 16-inch bullnose hearth and a stepped chimney that reads as masonry without a mason. It is the shorter of American Fyre Designs' two classic fireplace bodies (the Phoenix stands 87 inches), which makes it the better fit under tree canopies or where a tall chimney would block a view. It ships in seven pieces that bolt together on site, then takes the vented gas burner and log set or fire glass of your choice.

Installation Notes
Outdoor use only, on a hard, level surface. Vented models may not be installed under any overhead combustible material; keep 6" from the hearth sides and the rear to combustible construction and 36" clear in front of the hearth. Natural gas needs 5" to 10.5" w.c. at the inlet and propane 11" to 13" w.c. The fireplace ships on one pallet and American Fyre Designs recommends two or more people for assembly; pieces are heavy, so plan access to the back yard. In New York City, gas piping to an outdoor fireplace is a licensed master plumber job under permit, and we confirm placement and code questions during a design consultation. We install throughout NYC, Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is the burner included?
No. American Fyre Designs packages the fireplace and the gas appliance separately. Pair it with a vented burner such as the G45 system, then add a log set or fire glass.
Can I burn wood in it?
No. Solid fuel must not be burned in this unit, and the warranty excludes damage from burning wood. It is designed for natural gas or propane burners only.
Can it go under a covered patio?
No. The manual does not permit the vented Mariposa under overhead combustible material, and its clearance table allows no overhead clearance for vented models. Plan it for an open-sky location.
What is the recess option for?
It sets the flat faces of the hearth, the body or both back by 2" so a mason can apply stone, brick or tile.
