The DelRay 46 Square (DRSQ46NI) is the larger of Montigo's two DelRay Square direct vent gas fireplaces, with a 41-11/16 in. x 30-7/8 in. opening and a concealed universal burner that takes a traditional logset, a contemporary scene, speckled stones or glass media. It is sized for great rooms and open living spaces that need a big, classically proportioned fire. This is the Basic model with SIT electronic ignition; the remote, fans, screen and battery backup are added as options, which keeps the base package simple for projects that only need a great-looking fire.

  • Included: DRSQ46NI firebox with concealed universal burner and SIT electronic ignition, plus the supplied stud heat deflector
  • Required: a media package. Montigo sells logsets, contemporary scenes, speckled stones and glass media as options for this burner, so confirm your media and liner choice with our team when you order
  • Required: 5 in. / 8 in. direct vent pipe and a wall or roof termination, either Montigo vent or an approved alternate listed in the manual. We carry 58DVA-HC horizontal and 58DVA-VCH vertical caps, 58DVA-36 pipe and 58DVA-E90 elbows
  • Required for propane: the propane option above (conversion kit GCA023), installed by a qualified gas fitter
  • Required: a gas supply line, plus a 115V circuit if you add fans or other powered options
  • Optional: remote control, fans, micro mesh screen, battery backup, trim kit, liner panels, heat management kit

Installation Notes

Frame to the minimum opening in the manual (49 in. W x 55 in. H x 22 in. D, 84 in. enclosure height) with the header on edge, and install the stud heat deflectors unless a cool wall option is used. If the unit sits on carpet, vinyl or other combustible flooring besides wood, it must rest on a wood or metal panel the full width and depth of the fireplace. Mantel heights follow the charts in the manual. Converting the DRSQ46 to 4 in. / 7 in. venting is not permitted unless a power vent is used. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed gas installer. In New York City, direct vent fireplaces fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code, with a licensed master plumber and DOB filing where required; the termination location usually decides feasibility in apartments and townhouses. We confirm venting and permitting during a fireplace design consultation.

Does the DelRay 46 come with logs or stones?

The burner is media-ready, and Montigo sells the logsets, contemporary scenes, speckled stones and glass media as options. Tell us the look you want and we will confirm the media and liner package with your order.

What is the difference between the Basic DRSQ46NI and the Full-Load DRSQ46NI-2?

Both share the same firebox, 40,000 BTU/h rating and 41-11/16 in. x 30-7/8 in. opening. The Full-Load adds a standard multi-function remote with remote Hi-Lo flame, fans, micro mesh screen, battery backup and halogen downlighting, and supports WiFi app control. On the Basic, those items are options.

Should I choose the 42 or the 46?

The DRSQ46 has a larger opening (41-11/16 in. vs 37-11/16 in. wide) and 40,000 BTU/h input vs 32,500, but needs a taller enclosure (84 in. vs 72 in.) and a 49 in. wide framed opening.

Can it run on propane?

Yes. On propane it is rated 34,000 BTU/h. Choose the propane option above, which includes conversion kit GCA023.

Warranty

Montigo Residential Warranty Program (per the manual): firebox, heat exchanger and main burner 15 years, with 1 year of labor; Montigo venting (excluding termination) 15 years; gas controls, electrical components, remotes, media, glass, finishes and safety barriers 1 year, parts and labor. Requires installation by a licensed professional and annual service by an authorized Montigo dealer. Montigo's terms also require the fireplace to be purchased and installed through an authorized Montigo dealer.
