The DelRay Full-Load 42 Square is a single-sided direct vent gas fireplace with a tall 37-11/16 in. x 26-7/8 in. opening and a concealed universal burner that takes a traditional logset, a contemporary scene, speckled stones or glass media. It suits a living room or den where you want classic fireplace proportions with modern controls. The Full-Load package makes the remote with Hi-Lo flame, fans, halogen downlighting, micro mesh screen and battery backup standard, items that are options on the Basic DRSQ42NI.

  • Required: a media package. Montigo lists logsets, contemporary scenes, speckled stones and glass media as options for this burner, so confirm your media and liner choice with our team when you order
  • Required: 5 in. / 8 in. direct vent pipe and a wall or roof termination, either Montigo vent or an approved alternate listed in the manual (DuraVent DirectVent Pro connects through adapter 58DVA-AD-M1). We carry 58DVA-HC horizontal and 58DVA-VCH vertical caps, 58DVA-36 pipe and 58DVA-E90 elbows
  • Required for propane: the propane option above (conversion kit GCA027), installed by a qualified technician
  • Required: a gas supply line and a 115V, 60 Hz circuit at the fireplace
  • Optional: adjustable trim kit for a framed finish, liner panels, heat management kit, EC1550 wall remote, SIT-WiFi app control

Installation Notes

Frame to the minimum opening in the manual (45 in. W x 51 in. H x 21 in. D, 72 in. enclosure height) with the header on edge, and install the stud heat deflectors unless a cool wall release or Cool Wall Advantage kit is used. If the unit sits on carpet, vinyl or other combustible flooring besides wood, it must rest on a wood or metal panel the full width and depth of the fireplace. Mantel heights follow the charts in Section 6 of the manual. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed gas installer. In New York City, direct vent fireplaces fall under the NYC Fuel Gas Code, with a licensed master plumber and DOB filing where required; the termination location usually decides feasibility in apartments and townhouses. We confirm venting and permitting during a fireplace design consultation.

Does the DelRay 42 come with logs or stones?

The burner is media-ready, and Montigo sells the logsets, contemporary scenes, speckled stones and glass media as options. Tell us the look you want and we will confirm the media and liner package with your order.

What is the difference between the Full-Load DRSQ42NI-2 and the Basic DRSQ42NI?

Both share the same firebox, 32,500 BTU/h rating and 37-11/16 in. x 26-7/8 in. opening. The Full-Load adds a standard multi-function remote with remote Hi-Lo flame, fans, micro mesh screen, battery backup and halogen downlighting, and it is the version that supports WiFi app control.

Will it work during a power outage?

Yes. Battery backup keeps the ignition and remote working when power is out; the fans and downlighting need the 115V supply.

Can it run on propane?

Yes. On propane it is rated 27,000 BTU/h. Choose the propane option above, which includes the conversion kit.

Warranty

Montigo Residential Warranty Program (per the manual): firebox, heat exchanger and main burner 15 years, with 1 year of labor; gas controls, electrical components, remotes, media, glass, finishes and safety barriers 1 year, parts and labor. Transferable while the fireplace stays in its original installation; requires installation by a licensed professional and annual service by an authorized Montigo dealer. Montigo's terms also require the fireplace to be purchased and installed through an authorized Montigo dealer.
