The Napoleon Astound 50 (NEFB50AB) is a built-in linear electric fireplace with a 45-3/4 in. by 17-1/2 in. view and Napoleon's spark-effect flame technology. It can be finished frameless or with adjustable trim, and a flip-down front glass makes it easy to change the media for the seasons.

It heats at 1,500 W on 120V or 3,000 W when wired for 240V, with ECO mode for half heat and BOOST mode for more heat and blower speed. Control it with the included remote, the Napoleon Home app or voice assistants, and pick from 13 ember bed and top light colors.

Frame an opening 50-3/4 in. W x 26-1/4 in. H x 13 in. D; the Astound is a recess or build-in only appliance. A qualified electrician must hard-wire it to a dedicated 15 A grounded circuit at 120V, or wire it for 240V to reach 3,000 W. Electric fireplaces need no gas line or venting, which makes them one of the simplest fireplace options for New York City apartments and co-ops, subject to building and board approval for the electrical work. Does it plug in?

No. Napoleon requires hard-wiring to a dedicated 15 A grounded circuit. Wiring it for 240V doubles the heater to 3,000 W.

How deep a wall do I need?

The fireplace is 12-5/16 in. deep and frames into a 13 in. deep opening.

Can I change the media?

Yes. The front glass flips down so you can swap in Birch logs, Mineral Rock, glass beads or crystals, or seasonal decor.

What are ECO and BOOST modes?

ECO mode runs the heater at half power to save energy, and BOOST mode raises heat output and blower speed for colder days.

Light bulbs and fuses are not covered. Coverage is for the original purchaser, is not transferable, begins on the date of installation and requires purchase through an authorized Napoleon dealer.
