The Napoleon Astound 96 is a built-in linear electric fireplace with a 91-3/4 in. x 17-1/2 in. viewing area, the widest in the Astound series. Tinted glass, orange and yellow flames with spark effects and a flip-down glass front make it a realistic feature wall centerpiece without gas or venting. It is for owners who want a long recessed fire in a living room, bedroom or lounge and can run a dedicated hardwired circuit.

Installation Notes
The Astound 96 must be fully recessed and cannot be wall hung. Finishing material may overlap the edge flange by no more than 1/2 in. and must not extend past the finishing edge trim. Keep TVs and electronics clear of the heat. It is for indoor use only and is not suitable for bathrooms. Hardwiring must be done by a licensed electrician; in New York City, electrical work must be performed by a licensed electrician. Frequently Asked Questions
Does the Astound 96 need to be hardwired?
Yes. Napoleon requires a dedicated, grounded 15 A circuit, hardwired by a qualified electrician, on either 120V or 240V. At 240V it delivers up to 3,000 W.
Can I mount a TV above it?
The manual warns that heat from the top vents can damage a TV or electronics above the unit, so confirm your layout and any heat management before framing.
Is it only a built-in?
Yes. This model must be fully recessed. Napoleon sells a separate FlexMount version for wall-hung installs in other sizes.

Warranty
Napoleon lists a 5-year limited warranty from the original installation date for the original purchaser, covering fan/heaters, motors, switches, nylon bearings, remote controls and LED lights. Labor is covered for the first year only, and light bulbs and fuses are not covered. Purchase must be through an authorized Napoleon dealer.
