The Napoleon Elevation X 36 (EX36PTEL) is the propane version of Napoleon's traditional direct vent gas fireplace, with a deep firebox, Ultra High Definition logs and a glowing electric ember bed that reads like a real wood fire. It is built for homes on a propane tank, and at 36 inches it suits living rooms, dens and bedrooms where a 42 would overwhelm the wall. A heat circulating blower and a Bluetooth-ready remote come standard, and each package on this page includes your choice of log set and interior panel.

Installation Notes
The EX36PTEL needs a regulated propane supply (11 to 13 in. w.c. inlet), a 115V outlet and a 5 in. / 8 in. direct vent run to an exterior wall or roof. Follow the published framing dimensions, keep finishing materials outside the finishing flange, and observe the mantel chart; the Dynamic Heat Control kit lets you lower mantel and TV clearances. Keep furniture and objects at least 4 ft from the front. Installation must be done by a qualified, licensed gas installer. Propane use inside buildings is tightly restricted in New York City, so city projects normally use the natural gas EX36NTEL; this propane model is meant for homes on a tank, typically outside the five boroughs. Frequently Asked Questions
Is the log set included?
The fireplace requires a log set to be complete. Every option on this page includes one: Birch, Split Oak or Driftwood, along with the interior panel you select.
Why is the propane rating lower than natural gas?
Napoleon rates the EX36PTEL at 34,000 BTU/h on propane and the EX36NTEL at 37,000 BTU/h on natural gas. The flame picture, logs and ember bed are the same.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Yes, with planning. The Dynamic Heat Control kit reduces mantel and TV clearances by redirecting heat, and the recess frame can be backed with 3/4 in. plywood for TV mounting hardware. Follow the mantel chart in the installation manual for final heights.
Does it work in a power outage?
The fire can run on battery backup. The blower and electric ember bed need household power.

Warranty
Napoleon President's Limited Lifetime Warranty: the combustion chamber, heat exchanger, burner, logs and embers, ceramic glass (thermal breakage), plated parts and porcelain components are covered for as long as the original purchaser owns the fireplace, with parts replaced free for the first 10 years and at 50% of retail after that. Electrical components and wearable parts (blower, gas valve, switches, wiring, remote, ignitor, gaskets, pilot assembly) are covered for one year, and warranty labour is covered for the first year through an authorized Napoleon dealer.
