The Primo Oval XXL 500 (PGCXXLH) is Primo's largest ceramic kamado, sold here as the grill head for a built-in island, a Primo table or a cart. It cooks on 500 sq in, expandable to 850 sq in with the optional rack system, enough for about 10 whole chickens, 3 turkeys or 28 burgers.
The patented oval firebox gives true two-zone cooking, the 3/4 in. ceramic wall holds heat for long smokes, and the soft-close locking hinge keeps the heavy lid where you leave it. It is made in the USA.

Installation Notes
For a built-in, cut the countertop to Primo's 30.5 x 24.5 in. oval and set a non-combustible support shelf 14-7/8 in. below the top surface, per the preliminary Primo drawing, and confirm the dimensions against the unit before fabrication. Leave room behind the grill for the lid to open, never use lighter fluid, and use Primo ceramic feet on any surface that is not a metal stand. In New York City, the NYC Fire Code restricts charcoal and other open-flame grills on balconies, terraces and rooftops, so confirm your building and FDNY rules before ordering. Book a design consultation and we will design the island and cut-out around the XXL.

What cut-out does it need?
Primo's preliminary drawing shows a 30.5 x 24.5 in. oval, with the support shelf 14-7/8 in. below the counter. Confirm on the unit before cutting stone.
Can it smoke and sear?
Yes. The oval firebox can be split with a divider for two-zone cooking, so you can sear over direct heat on one side and roast or smoke indirectly on the other.
Can I use it in New York City?
On a backyard or ground-level patio, usually. The NYC Fire Code restricts charcoal grills on balconies, terraces and rooftops, so check your building and FDNY rules first.

Primo Grills and Smokers limited warranty, per the Primo owner's manual: Limited Lifetime Warranty backed by a 20-year guarantee on ceramic parts, five (5) years on all metal parts (excluding cast-iron parts), one (1) year on cast-iron parts, one (1) year on cooking grates, and thirty (30) days on thermometers and felt gaskets, for the original purchaser. Coverage is repair or replacement of parts Primo finds defective under normal use, with replacement parts shipped at the purchaser's expense; damage from accident, misuse, improper installation or maintenance, and cracks or chips in the exterior glaze after delivery to the dealer are excluded.
