The Summerset DD-30 is a 30 in. stainless steel double access door for outdoor kitchen islands, giving full-width access to the space under a grill or countertop. Use it for gas shut-offs, plumbing, electrical connections and bulk storage. The flush mount return suits stucco, wood or metal finished islands. The opening is 27 3/8 in. wide by 19 3/8 in. high, per Summerset's published cutout sheet.

Installation Notes

Cut and frame the opening to 27 3/8 x 19 3/8 in. and confirm it against the current Summerset cutout sheet before the countertop goes on. The flush return overlaps the island face, so the finish material should be complete before the door is installed. In New York City, gas work in an outdoor kitchen must be done by a licensed plumber and may need DOB filings.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size opening do I cut?

27 3/8 in. wide by 19 3/8 in. high, per Summerset. Add about 1/4 in. so the frame slips in without binding.

Can I store a propane tank behind this door?

Use the vented door or a vented propane tank drawer for propane storage. A solid door does not ventilate the cabinet.
