Description
The Superior VRT3136 is a 36 in. VRT3100 vent-free gas firebox: a heat-circulating firebox with a clean face that takes a separately purchased vent-free log set and burner. Per the Superior VRT3100 smart sheet it uses stacked refractory liners with floor (VRT3136WS) or Back Bay Brown ceramic fiber liners with black metal floor (VRT3136F), and it is compatible with any listed ANSI Z21.11.2 vent-free log set, with Superior log sets recommended.

Installation Notes
Frame to the smart sheet dimensions and follow the firebox manual for clearances, mantel heights and room-size limits for vent-free appliances. Vent-free gas appliances cannot be installed in New York City under the NYC Fuel Gas Code. We sell this model for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows it.

No. Add a listed vent-free log set and burner; Superior recommends its own log sets.
Which variant should I choose?
The variants differ by liner; the firebox itself is fuel-neutral, and fuel is set by the log set and burner you choose.

Superior (Innovative Hearth Products) 20 year limited warranty, per the Superior smart sheet; the 20 year coverage applies to the firebox, with shorter terms on other components. Coverage requires purchase from a listed IHP supplier and installation by an IHP-approved contractor in the United States or Canada. The vent-free log set and burner carry their own warranty.
