Installation Notes

Install the surround after the wall finish, per the instructions supplied with it. The DRL manual allows non-combustible surrounds up to 6 in deep on or in front of the fireplace face, as long as they do not cover any part of the removable glass or block removal of the screen barrier.

In New York City, a direct-vent gas fireplace needs a licensed master plumber and a permit. Vent-free models such as the VRL3055 cannot be installed in New York City.
