The Superior DRL3500 55 inch (DRL3555) is a linear direct vent gas fireplace with a clean, smooth face and a 50 in. wide glass viewing area. It is made for new construction and remodels where you want a long, modern flame with a factory blower and battery backup ignition. The optional HeatFlo kit directs heat above a TV or wall art, which makes it a good match for a media wall.

Installation Notes
Installation must follow the Superior manual and be done by a licensed installer, including gas, venting, framing and electrical for the blower. Vent runs and shelf heights depend on the configuration, so plan them before framing. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces must meet the NYC Fuel Gas Code and need a permitted installation. Our team can walk you through it in a fireplace consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does it need electricity?
Four AA batteries power the fireplace if the power goes out, but the blower is not covered by that backup. Superior's manual calls for external power for the blower.
Can I put a TV above it?
The optional HeatFlo kit redirects heat above heat sensitive items. Check the shelf height and clearance tables in the manual before you plan a TV.
Is it approved for bedrooms?
Superior lists this direct vent model for bedrooms and manufactured homes.
How long can the vent run?
Vertical runs can be 6 to 60 ft, and horizontal runs are limited to 25 ft with two elbows or 20 ft with three.
