The Superior DRL3535 is the 35 inch model in the DRL3500 linear direct vent series, which adds factory interior lights, a blower and a remote control to the DRL2000 base design. Its 30 in. by 16-3/4 in. glass view over platinum glass media makes it a strong pick for bedrooms, studies and smaller living rooms that still want a modern linear fire.
It is rated up to 18,000 BTU/h on natural gas, with electronic ignition on house power and an AA battery backup.

A qualified gas installer must frame and vent the DRL3535 with Superior Secure Vent components inside the manual limits and supply external power; the AA batteries are a backup only and do not run the blower. In New York City, gas work requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and sealed direct vent fireplaces like this one are a common code-compliant choice.
