The Superior DRL2055 is the 55 inch model in the DRL2000 linear direct vent series, the clean-face base version of the DRL3500 without the factory lights and blower. It gives a 50 in. by 16-3/4 in. glass view over black glass media and is rated up to 23,000 BTU/h on natural gas, a good fit for a long, low media wall where the look matters more than maximum heat.
Electronic ignition runs on house power with an AA battery backup, and Superior's HeatFlo kit can move heat above the opening when a TV or art is planned close to the fire.

A qualified gas installer must frame and vent the DRL2055 with Superior Secure Vent components inside the manual limits, including the required 1 ft of rise off the unit, and supply external power. In New York City, gas work requires a licensed master plumber and permits, and sealed direct vent fireplaces like this one are a common code-compliant choice. Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between the DRL2055 and DRL3555?
Superior lists the DRL3555 with lights and a blower and a higher 28,000 BTU/h natural gas rating; the DRL2055 is the base model without them.
Does it come with a remote?
No. The DRL2000 packaging list includes wall switch wire but no remote; the remote ships with DRL3500 models.
Does it work in a power outage?
Yes. Four AA batteries provide backup power for fireplace operation.
Can I mount a TV above it?
Superior offers the HeatFlo kit for 55 in. models to move heat above the opening; framing for the kit is in the spec sheet.
