The Fire Magic Choice C650i is a 36-inch built-in gas grill with three U-burners, 69,000 BTU and 648 square inches of main cooking surface. Fire Magic's spec guide calls it a 40-inch built-in grill, which is the size that matters for the island cutout. Installation Notes
Build the island cutout at 37-3/4 in W x 19-1/2 in D x 11-1/2 in H with a non-combustible countertop. Choice natural gas runs at 7 in w.c. normal (5 minimum, 10-1/2 maximum) and propane at 11 in w.c. normal (10 minimum, 13 maximum) per the Fire Magic Choice manuals. Fire Magic requires 5 ft from the cooking surface to overhead construction. A qualified professional must install it, and NYC and Long Island jobs need the proper permits. In New York City, gas work for an outdoor grill must be done by a licensed master plumber under permit. Is it a 36-inch or 40-inch grill?
The cooking grids are 36 x 18 in. Fire Magic's spec guide lists the C650i as a 40-inch built-in grill, with a 37-3/4 in wide cutout.
Does it need electricity?
No. Choice Turn-to-Light ignition needs no power or batteries.
Does it need an insulating liner?
Only in a combustible enclosure. Use the 3177-52 liner linked above.
Natural gas or propane?
Both are offered. The C650I-RT1N is natural gas and the C650I-RT1P is propane.

Warranty
Per the Fire Magic warranty page, Choice stainless steel U-shaped burners are covered for as long as you own the grill, ignition systems and electronic components carry one year, and Fire Magic pays the first two years of labor allowance.
