The Fire Magic Choice C540i is a built-in gas grill with a 30 x 18 in cooking surface, three stainless steel U-shaped burners and Diamond Sear cooking grids, framed in a satin stainless steel face. Turn-to-Light ignition needs no power or batteries, and a 240 sq in warming rack adds space for buns and sides. It drops into a 32 in island cutout, a good fit for a mid-size outdoor kitchen.

- Optional: grill cover 3643F, double side burner, 1 hour gas timer box, wind deflector 23732-20, and a 36-VH-7 or larger vent hood for covered areas
Installation Notes
Build the island to the cutout above with a non-combustible countertop, keep the front air inlet under the control panel clear, and orient the grill so the prevailing wind blows toward its front. Under a roof, Fire Magic highly recommends a hood larger than the cooking area with at least a 1200 CFM fan. Do not use a rubber hose inside the enclosure. In New York City, gas work for an outdoor grill must be done by a licensed master plumber under permit, and propane cylinders are restricted in many buildings. What cutout does the C540i need?
32 in wide, 19-1/2 in deep and 11-1/2 in high in a non-combustible island, per the Choice manual. A combustible island needs the 23150-52 liner and its own cutout.
Does it need electricity?
No. Choice Turn-to-Light ignition needs no power or batteries.
How many BTU is it?
Fire Magic lists the main burners at 57,000 BTU across three U-shaped burners.
Can it go under a covered patio?
Fire Magic requires 5 ft of clearance to overhead construction and highly recommends a vent hood of at least 1200 CFM.

Warranty
Per the Fire Magic limited warranty in the Choice manual, for single family residential use: Choice stainless steel U-shaped burners, cooking grids and the barbecue housing for as long as the original purchaser owns them; brass valves, manifold assemblies and inner liners 15 years; flavor grids 5 years; side burners and other components 3 years; ignition systems, electronic parts including thermometers, and accessories 1 year. Labor is not covered, and multi-user settings fall under a separate Multi-User warranty.
