The Montigo Phenom 52 Basic (PL52D) is a 52 inch single-sided direct vent gas fireplace with a concealed ribbon burner that takes glass media, driftwood or speckled stones. It uses the Proflame 2 basic control system and lets you finish the face with porcelain panels, rock or tile over the firebox frame for a minimalist look.

Installation Notes
The manual lists top clearance of 26 inches with a top vent, 1 inch at the rear, 2-1/2 inches at the sides and 0 inches at the floor. Combustible mantels are limited to a shaded zone defined in the manual. A licensed installer must set the unit and connect gas and venting. In New York City, a direct vent gas fireplace must meet the NYC Fuel Gas Code and be permitted. Schedule a consultation and we will confirm framing and venting before you order.

Does it include a remote?
The basic package uses the Proflame 2 basic control system. The manual lists the Proflame 2 remote and variable-speed fans as optional, so confirm what you need when you order.
Can I finish it with tile or stone?
Yes. Rock or tile can go over the firebox frame, and porcelain panels are an option, within the clearances in the manual.
Can it vent out the back?
Rear venting is possible but must use multiple elbows. It cannot go straight through the wall.

Warranty
Per the current listing, Montigo provides a 15-year limited warranty on the firebox, heat exchanger and main burner, with 1-year coverage on gas controls, electronic ignition and other electrical components. Montigo's warranty terms require the fireplace to be purchased, installed and serviced annually by an authorized Montigo dealer for coverage to remain valid.
