- We allow returns on all new, unused, unassembled, and "resalable" items in their original packaging within 30 days of the delivery date for a refund (minus the original shipping costs, and the shipping costs you incur shipping the product back). Naturally, if your return is because of our error, you are not responsible for any shipping costs.

Napoleon Ascent™ 42 Direct Vent Gas Fireplace
The Ascent™ 42 is Napoleon's best-selling direct vent gas fireplace — a clean-burning, sealed-combustion firebox that delivers real radiant heat with the tall, full flame of the PHAZER™ log set. It vents horizontally through a wall or vertically through the roof, so it drops into almost any room in a NYC apartment, Long Island home or New Jersey build.

Choosing Your Configuration
Ignition and Fuel Type above are required — they determine the factory unit you receive. Millivolt ignition uses a standing pilot and operates without electricity; Electronic ignition uses an intermittent pilot for higher efficiency. Interior Panels are optional — the firebox ships with a painted black interior. MIRRO-FLAME™ reflective porcelain brightens and deepens the firebox; Westminster™ brick adds a traditional masonry look.
A direct vent kit is required to complete this installation and is sold separately — the correct kit depends on whether you terminate through a wall or the roof. Decorative fronts, surrounds, finishing trim, media kits, the blower kit and remote upgrades are optional and listed under Related Products below.

Documentation
Field conversion between fuels is possible with a Napoleon conversion kit (W175-0420 millivolt, W175-0418 electronic), sold separately.

Backed by Napoleon's President's Limited Lifetime Warranty, covering the combustion chamber and heat exchanger for life against defects in workmanship and materials. Installation by a licensed gas technician is required to maintain coverage.
