The Napoleon Ascent Linear Premium 42 is a single-sided linear direct vent gas fireplace with a 37-1/2 in. x 16-3/4 in. viewing area, made for a modern wall in a living room, bedroom or den. It comes with an internal heat-circulating blower, a premium safety barrier, the eFIRE controller and remote, and a battery backup, so the features that are extras on other linear fireboxes are standard here. You choose the log set that completes it.

- Required: a Napoleon-approved direct vent kit or listed alternate with its starter adapter (Napoleon lists W175-0053 for Duravent, which the store does not carry), firestop, sealants named in the manual, a gas line and a 115V hard-wired supply. Duravent 4 in. x 6-5/8 in. parts such as 46DVA-HC, 46DVA-VCH and 46DVA-36 are available separately
- Propane: field convertible with a certified Napoleon kit installed by a qualified technician
- Optional: interior panels, finishing trim, heat management
Installation Notes
Frame to the minimum opening above, follow the vent run limits and confirm clearances to combustibles on the rating plate. Gas, electrical and venting work must be done by a licensed installer. In New York City, direct vent gas fireplaces must meet the NYC Fuel Gas Code and need a permitted installation. Book a consultation and we will confirm venting and framing before you order.

Yes. Napoleon lists the internal heat-circulating blower, premium safety barrier and eFIRE remote as included on the BLX42.
Do I have to choose a log set?
Yes. The Premium firebox ships without media, so choose a log kit or beach fire kit in the options above to complete it.
