The Carol Rose DT48LSS is the stainless steel drain tray for the Carol Rose vent-free linear outdoor fireplaces. It sits beneath the firebox and routes away water that gets into an outdoor installation, keeping the burner and controls dry. Per the current listing one tray covers the 48, 60 and 72 in. linears, and it adds 1 in. to the framing height.

Installation Notes

Plan the tray before framing, since it sits under the firebox, and keep the clearances in the fireplace manual. Vent-free gas appliances cannot be installed in New York City under the NYC Fuel Gas Code; we sell Carol Rose vent-free outdoor fireplaces and their accessories for installations outside the five boroughs where local code allows them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the drain tray required?

No. It is optional, but useful where rain can reach the opening.

Does it change my framing?

Yes. Per the listing it adds 1 in. to the framing height, so order it before the wall is framed.

Does it fit the 36 or 42 in. premium fireplaces?

No. Those use their own drain trays, DT36SS and DT42SS, per the premium fireplace manual.
