The Trade-Wind PSD010XL is a 1,266 CFM in-line blower that mounts remotely in the duct run between a Trade-Wind hood liner and the roof or wall cap. Moving the motor away from the hood takes most of the fan noise out of the cooking area.
The galvanized steel housing has a powder-coat finish and a direct drive motor with no belts to adjust. It connects to 10 in. round duct, runs on 120V and works with the variable speed control in Trade-Wind Pro and Standard liners.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: the in-line blower, fully assembled with integral mounting brackets, per Trade-Wind
- Not included: FC duct clamps, vibration isolators, suspension hardware and screen guards
- Required: a Trade-Wind hood liner without internal blowers, round duct, a roof or wall cap, and a 120V circuit wired by an electrician
- Pairs with: Trade-Wind 10 in. duct damper and Trade-Wind 10 in. duct silencer
Installation Notes
Trade-Wind recommends the attic, near or slightly past the midpoint of the duct run, bolted to framing or hung from threaded rod with the integral brackets. Wire black, white, green and the red variable control lead from the liner as shown in the instructions, and never connect the red lead to a 3-speed blower. Screen guards are required if the blower is within 7 ft of a work area. In New York City, the wiring must be done by a licensed electrician. Book a design consultation to size the hood, duct and blower together.

Why use an in-line blower?
Moving the motor into the duct, away from the hood, makes the hood much quieter at the grill.
Which hoods does it work with?
Trade-Wind hood liners ordered without internal blowers; the variable control lead works with Pro and Standard liners, not 3-speed models.
Can it be mounted outdoors?
Trade-Wind's instructions place it in the attic or a chase in the duct run and do not list an outdoor location.
What clamps do I need?
FC series duct clamps for 10 in. duct are sold separately.

Warranty
Trade-Wind's Professional Series in-line blower literature (Universal Metal Industries) states a limited warranty to the original user against defects in materials and workmanship for one year from the date of purchase, with repair or replacement at Trade-Wind's option; it may be voided by unauthorized service or alterations, and improper installation is not covered. Current dealer listings show three years for Trade-Wind ventilation products; we confirm the term in force on the order.
