The Aquafire Box is a modular steel enclosure that frames an Aquafire water vapor fireplace insert, with the light trap and mounting built into the box so the opening comes out right the first time. The box is set into the wall framing, the Aquafire insert drops into it, and the finish wall runs to the box. It is made for designers, builders and homeowners who want a clean, repeatable install of an Aquafire, Aquafire Pro or Aquafire Lite.

What Is Included and What You Will Need
- Included: the box panels for the size selected, light trap, finishing guides, hardware and instructions; the Lite adapter plate and one expansion panel when those options are selected
- Not included: the Aquafire insert (order the Aquafire, Aquafire Pro or Aquafire Lite separately) and sheetrock screws
- Additional width: Aquafire Box 20 in expansion panel; Lite adapter also sold as the Aquafire Box adapter plate
- Required: wall framing built to the opening, height and depth above, plus the water and power the Aquafire insert itself needs per its own manual
Installation Notes
Frame the wall or surround to the Aquafire Box dimensions first, assemble the back, sides, top and light trap, then set the box into the framing and fasten it. Keep the bottom of the opening at least 14 in above the floor. Because water vapor fireplaces need no gas or venting, an Aquafire in an Aquafire Box is a practical feature wall for New York City apartments and condos; the insert's own water and electrical connections should be done by licensed trades.
