Installation Notes

Install natural gas or propane only as shown on the rating plate; the unit is not convertible without a certified kit. Clearance to combustibles is 0 inches at the back, sides, floor and top, with vertical vent pipe 1 inch from combustibles and 60 inches from the bottom of the fireplace to the ceiling. Follow the manual for mantel heights and facing materials. In New York City, gas fireplace work must be done by a licensed professional under a DOB permit, and the direct vent route should be planned before ordering. Can I switch to Clean View later?

Kingsman lists a Clean View version of this fireplace, but the framing differs (42-3/8 x 37-1/8 x 17 inches louvered versus 42-7/16 x 43-1/8 x 19-1/2 inches Clean View), so settle the configuration before framing.

Do I need a log set?

The Kingsman listing marks the LOGC44 Burnt Oak set as required. The manual lists LOGC42, LOGC43, LOGC44, MQROCK1 and MQRSP3 as compatible with this model, so use one of those.

Does it work in a power failure?

Yes. The millivolt and IPI valve systems operate during a power failure, and the optional wall mount battery holder supports IPI models.

Can I use it in a bedroom?

The manual states it is certified for a bedroom or bed-sitting room, subject to your local codes.

Warranty

Per the Kingsman manual: a basic one year warranty replaces any component found defective in materials or workmanship, including labour, excluding accent light bulbs, gasketing, glass fronts and paint. The heat exchanger, combustion chamber and burner are covered for the period the original owner owns the product, with replacement parts only (labour, freight and handling are not covered).
